Shotzi joined the herd
in the late summer of 2008. She was one of
Gabby's four kittens that we hand raised.
Now, at almost a year old, Shotzi is very
comfortable in her new environment. She is a
small cat, as are all of the surviving
kittens. Of the three, Shotzi has a long,
tapering face, when compared to her sisters.
You could almost say it is similar to a
Siamese. As she gets older, I think she will
look more and more like her (assumed) older
brother, Darwin. Along with Cupcake, Darwin
and Reno, these make up the four brown tabby
cats in the herd. If she continues to grow,
it will be more and more difficult to tell
the "stripy" cats apart with just a simple
glance.
Shotzi crawls up into my arms at least once
or twice a day (more if I'm on vacation),
and will curl up, then stand up, turn
around, and lay down again. She repeats this
three to four times, then finally will sit
still for a few minutes, before getting down
again. She likes to follow me around when I
am cleaning the litter boxes. It would be
cute, if she didn't have to be the first o
use one of the boxes as soon as it is
cleaned. Sort of defeats the purpose, in my
mind. Shotzi is a cuddle cat, and
likes to lay up against me overnight. That
way she knows when I wake up and can come up
to visit for a bit, before settling down
again.
